Goku stronger Superman
Whenever this question arises, most people/fanboys refer to the Deathbattle video of Goku vs Superman on youtube by Screwattack, which ran some calculations and provided a simulation that eventually proved Supes would trump Goku. Here is the link to the battle:
On closer scrutiny, it becomes painfully obvious that this video was made by Superman fanboys with an incredibly biased take on his abilities and basically skews the entire statistic set in his favour, by grossly undermining Goku's. They basically based all of their calculations off the weakest version of Goku, from right at the start of the series, and made no allowance for the fact that he grew immeasurably stronger as the series progressed, making his base form incredibly strong, and as a result, the SSJ power ups from there on, must account for an even more exponential power increase.
So here's an attempt to make some corrections to it, from various sources.
The first thing to consider here is that which version of Superman are we considering? Going by the fact that the Superman franchise has existed in the comic verse for over 70 years, and written by a plethora of different authors, there is a wide discrepancy in the continuity and regularity of abilities of Supes over the years.
The first version of Superman that appeared in the original Man of Steel series in the 40s described Supes as 10x stronger than an average human being, barely remarkable by todays superhero standards. His basic feat at the time were flight, ability to lift object like cars, trains etc, and take on bullets and ammo without sustaining any damage.

But, over the years, several writers have progressively made Supes stronger and faster, even to the point of creating the non canon, parallel universe Superman Prime One Million, who spent 15000 years inside the sun, and basically emerged as an omnipotent God, with the power of the Creator, the ability to alter reality, create and destroy worlds and galaxies at whim, resurrect the dead, convert them into galactic being, and basically being nigh immortal and all powerful, by creating reality by thought.
But this version is non canon, just like Goku's SSJ4 form and the GT series. For the sake of fair comparison, lets concentrate only on canon versions of both heroes.
Even so, Superman's strength has grossly varied from comics over time to movies. In some versions, he is beaten to a pulp and left in a near death coma by Darksied, while in others he easily overpowers far stronger enemies.
Even in the movies, for instance Superman Returns, the first scene shows Supes struggling to land a measly airplane, while in one version of the comics, Superman by himself shifts the Earth back into its orbit.
The most consistent version of Superman is by far DC's new 52 series, which I shall use to compare here.
Here are some facts to consider while measuring up Superman's strength and ability:
-lifting power of 6.6 octillion tonnes
-flight at near the speed of light for some distances
-ability to endure the equivalent of 15 exploding supernovas to the face
